Editors will close Rock Werchter 2013 on Sunday 7th July. They will do it in style, too. After their superb performance in 2012 there is great anticipation for the Brits’ next moment of greatness in Werchter. The provisional list of headliners for Rock Werchter is already exciting. We have already announced that Green Day, on Thursday 4th July, Blur, on Friday 5th July and Rammstein, on Saturday 6th July, will be attending Rock Werchter. More top names will follow; in short, more Rock Werchter 2013 soon!
Editors = Werchter. The band built around the charismatic frontman Tom Smith seems to have become the unofficial Rock Werchter house band. In but a short time, Editors have evolved from the festival’s great promise to headliners. This is what Rock Werchter is all about. It’s a telling fact that this British band first appeared here in 2006, going straight to the main stage. Whatever happens, they will be in Rock Werchter’s Golden Book into the next century at least. They played at the 1000th concert in 2008. Two years later, they recorded a hit on our stage: ‘No Sound But The Wind (Live At Rock Werchter 2010)’ is their first, gold no. 1 in Belgium. Last summer, the band interrupted working on its fourth album for an impressive night-time performance with fireworks. Things will only get more grandiose next summer. Editors will be debuting new songs from their forthcoming fourth album due in 2013.
